Paterson is known as the "Silk City" for its dominant role in silk production during the late nineteenth century. It is the third largest city in New Jersey. Portions of Paterson are part of an Urban Enterprise Zone. In addition to other benefits to encourage employment within the Zone, shoppers can take advantage of a reduced 3½% sales tax rate versus the 7% rate charged statewide.
Paterson has continued its population surge into the 21st century, adapting from its historic focus on fabric production to related industries such as dyeing and polymers. Tourism, too, has become a growth industry, specifically in the Great Falls area.
Because of the city's proximity to New York City and easy access via major highways, Paterson has been selected as the right site for many companies that conduct business in the metropolitan New York area. In addition, the city's close proximity to the Port of New York/New Jersey and Newark International Airport make it a desirable business location.
As the site of the Superior Court, the Roe Federal Building, and the Paterson City Hall, government is Paterson's largest single employer. It is followed in importance by health care. Textiles also remain an important industry, but hundreds of smaller industries also keep the former mills humming, with garments, rubber goods, plastics, cosmetics, textiles, electronic components, machine tools, ribbons, and packaging being a few of the goods manufactured.

Insulin is usually required for diabetes patients with type 1 (and sometimes type 2) diabetes; it replaces the natural insulin that a diabetics pancreas no longer manufactures.
This is what makes insulin therapy a bit scary for some people, since this artificial hormone must usually be injected via a syringe. There have been other dev...
Now here are a few words for the benefit of those who are still squeamish about needles. One of the great problems of diabetic therapy is the injection of insulin; many people are nervous around needles, and nervous about injecting themselves. For those diabetics, there are two options: Insulin Pens and Insulin Pumps.
There are numerous subtypes of influenzas; some differ in the types of protein found on the influenza virus, and there are many different combinations of proteins possible. All flu strain have one thing in common: subtypes can be found in both humans and birds, and bird flu in humans is more prevalent than one might imagine.
